The nightmarish scenario of an actual avian flu pandemic was discussed last Thursday night by Gail Russ, a professor from the College of Business, during the Global Review. Russ cautioned she was no expert on the topic, but the very idea of a pandemic would have serious business ramifications in this country and abroad.

KUWAIT CITY (AP)--Kuwait has confirmed 20 cases of the deadly avian flu in birds including falcons, chickens and turkeys, a spokesman for the Health Ministry said Sunday. Ahmed al-Shatti said there were no human cases and an emergency plan has been activated.
