Medicago Inc. today announced additional positive results from a preclinical study of its H5N1 Influenza Virus-Like Particles vaccine. Medicago previously reported that its proprietary VLP vaccine stimulates a significant seroprotective immune response against the lethal Indonesia strain of the H5N1 Avian Influenza virus in mice who received doses as low as 1 microgram . Another deadly H5N1 bird flu case confirmed in the UK (EARTHtimes.org)

LONDON - A second case of the deadly H5N1 bird flu has been confirmed in Hill Meadow Farm, Knettishall, according to the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). The first outbreak of the virus was detected in nearby Redgrave Park Farm on November 11 prompting the cull of all 9,000 turkeys housed in the farm. [News Source]
